Hodgson Elkington and Co., chartered surveyors based in Lincoln and Nottinghamshire, made arrangements with the Lincolnshire Sports Partnership and offered a subsidised First Aid and Sports Injury Course at North Kesteven Sports Centre, North Hykeham, Lincoln, on Saturday 21st May.

The course was designed for anyone who wishes to learn basic first aid with the concentration on sports injuries.

Hodgson Elkington offered those clubs who participate in the Junior Sports Programme, H.E.'s partnership programme, the opportunity of one member from each club to receive the training free of charge.

Every aspect of First Aid Training was covered being specifically aimed at sports injuries. Other areas were covered, including - Priorities of Treatment; Emergency Action Plan; Resuscitation for both Adults and Children; The Unconscious patient; The Recovery Position; Choking; Bleeding; Shock; Eye Injury; Nose Bleed; Burns; Spinal Injury; Heart Attack; Diabetes; Fitting/Epilepsy; Asthma and anaphylaxis.

Sue Newbold of Birchwood Colts Junior Football Club said: "I really enjoyed the course and found it gave me a thorough grounding as to how to deal with the injuries that could occur on and off the sports field."

Mike Aspinall, coordinator of the Junior Sports Programme commented "A number of clubs could not attend due to clashing commitments and we therefore intend to hold a further course later in the year."
