Friends of Eagle School (FOES) are a charity who support the Eagle Primary School Community. We are a small team of parents who organise a wide range of fundraising events throughout the year, including fayres, discos and family quizzes to provide all the pupils with extra opportunities and resources that the School budget cannot stretch to.
The children are the direct beneficiaries of our hard work. - We promote literacy and provide new joiners with book bags and leavers with special year books. We encourage teamwork and provide house bibs for sports day. We organise regular fun and enjoyable activities for children, parents and extended families to attend, building community links in the process. We encourage business skills and provide financial backing for class projects each term following proposals from the pupils. In addition to these regular contributions, we focus each year on a chosen target to benefit the school community as a whole, Last year was installing new wooden play huts on the playground. This year our fundraising focus is on the physical health and well-being of the pupils by contributing towards the improvement of the facilities on the school playing field.
So far this year as well as the usual book bags and yearbooks, we have purchased enough dictionaries for every child in the school as well as increasing the reading books in the library and home books. Also with the assistance of the Junior Sports Programme we have now purchased a new sports kit for use in competitions.
