Once again, the annual Mini Olympics proved to be a great success. The 7th Mini Olympics held at Eslaforde Park, marked 86 days until the start of the Rugby Union World Cup which will be hosted in England.

Fifteen schools across Lincoln took part in the Annual Primary schools athletics event at Yarborough Leisure Centre.

On Wednesday 5th June, the Lincoln Primary Schools hosted athletics events at the Castle Academy. Children from Year 3 to Year 6 across 15 schools took part in a range of events including throwing, long jump and middle distance (600 and 800 metres) running events.

Chantelle Haywood is 11 years old and competes for Newark Athletics Club. She currently holds the under 11 record for Nottinghmashire and was ranked 4th in the UK last year as an under 11.

Athletics, Individual SponsorshipBeverly (Lee) Cupit is a 16 year old paralympic from Lincolnshire who broke the junior age records last year for both Shot and Discuss. Lee, who suffers from cerebral palsey and hemiplegia, is currently ranked fifth in the World Junior Rankings for Shot Put.

Athletics, Pop Lacrosse, Table TennisThe first Hodgson Elkington Pop Lacrosse Tournament of the 2007/8 season took place on the 7th November with teams competing for the Hodgson Elkington Shield. The event was won by West Bridgford School. The next tournament is to be held at Toothill School on December the 5th.
