Lincoln’s American football team the Lincoln Colonials, have been given support by the estate agents Hodgson and Elkington in the run up to the forthcoming season.

As American football is a high impact sport, equipment is essential for the safety and success of the Colonials. The equipment is very expensive, and it costs around £300 to kit out one player.

The Colonials president for the new season Mike Cuthell comments, ‘it’s sponsorship from companies like Hodgson Elkington that helps us to provide the necessary equipment for our players.’ Mike Aspinall from Hodgson Elkington got into contact with the Colonials after receiving a request from the team for sponsorship, and they were keen to help. They bought the team a new helmet, which will help the team towards fully kitting out another player.

The Colonials are still looking for further sponsorships from local business to help them in the up coming season, as they are just about to play their final qualifying match to enter them into the British Collegiate American Football League.
