Junior Sports Programme June 2007 Update
The 20-year-old butterfly specialist will be one of a select squad of 16 swimmers and the only East Midlands representative for swimming.
The games take place in Shanghai, from October 2 until 11, and will feature 7,000 athletes, from 169 countries, competing in 24 sports.
Aidan is no stranger to international competition, having represented Great Britain in Sweden at the World Global Games in 2004, and at the INAS-FID World Swimming Championships in the Czech Republic last year. At present he is in Spain on the GB Training Camp.
In January, Aidan took three silvers and a bronze medal in the Double Dutch Open.
Aidan has been swimming since the age of 8 he also helps at the local swimming club Grantham Lynx on a Wednesday evening he is a fantastic Athlete as Advocate representative for Special Olympic Lincolnshire.
In conjunction with J. Hodgson & Sons, the Junior Sports Programme were pleased to contribute towards Aidan's costs in competing at Shanghai.

Over 86 teams representing 26 different clubs competed in the tournament held over two weekends in June. We were able again to assist in providing trophies, practice balls and bags for the event.
