Lincolnshire Central School Partnership held a Mini Olympic Day on Wednesday 25th June at Eslaforde Park in Sleaford. The Mini Olympics is a primary school sports day to encourage participation, friendship and fun in a non-competitive environment amongst the 20 schools taking part.

The Junior Sports Programme Trust was please to provide Fair Play Award medals for the event.

The children taking part were from years 3 and 4 and almost all the sports and activities on offer throughout the day wre designed to replicate some of the Olympic sports including including football, tennis, archery, dance, volleyball, tri-golf, judo and pop lacrosse.

Now in its sixth year, the event was led by local coaches supported by 100 young leaders from local schools who help to support the 300 pupils and assist coaches.

Special guest for the day was Ben Dixon who attends Carre Grammar School and was selected earlier this year to represent England Under 18s Clubs and Schools in a triangular tournament at the French National Rugby Centre in Marcoussis against Ireland and France Under 18s.

Ben has been part of the Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire Leicester Tigers' developing players programme. Throughout his time at Carres Grammar School Ben has represented the school in a number of different sports. Among his achievements are scoring the school's first cricket century in more than 10 years, as well as representing the school in the Under 15 Rugby Daily Mail Cup.
