Y7 Kin-Ball 2022-23

On Monday 27th March we held our first ever kin-ball festival for Y7s. This is new sport coming to us from Canada where 3 teams play each other at the same time trying to keep a GIANT ball off the floor! The competition forms part of the School Games which seeks to increase competition, participation and leadership in sport. This event was for Y7s who might need a bit of help with the transition to secondary school. The aim was to teach them a completely new sport so they could have a really active day, make new friends, improve their cooperation and teamwork and have lots of FUN. The day was a massive success with all the pupils leaving feeling more positive about sport and exercise.

Huge thanks goes to University Academy Long Sutton for hosting us in their sports hall and to Natalie Frost for organising things their end.

Thanks to all the children and staff from University Academy Holbeach, Bourne Academy, Spalding Academy and The Giles School.

School Games competitions like this happen almost every week across the region and are open to ALL schools.
