Newark Shooters Netball Club held their awards evening on 12th July. The Junior Sports Programme contributed towards the awards.

LacrosseThe Regional Pop Lacrosse Tournament was held at Toothill School on 15th May. St Peter's CofE School from East Bridgford retained the Hodgson Elkington Regional Championship trophy.

Football
Collingham Junior Football Tournament was held on the weekends of 11th and 18th May. The Junior Sports Programme assisted by sponsoring the Frank Palmer Trophy. The trophy is dedicated to the memory of Mr Frank Palmer as a thank you for all of his sterling work for the club.

Golf, Hockey, LacrosseDiscussions have taken place with the Golf Foundation and the Cherry Willingham Sports Partnership with a view to the Junior Sports Programme assisting in the promotion of Tri-Golf.

Pop LacrosseThe first Hodgson Elkington Junior Sports Programme pop lacrosse tournament of 2008 took place at Toothill School, Bingham on Wednesday 23rd January. Five schools took place and the winners were St. Peter's CofE School from East Bridgford.

FootballNorwell Blades received a donation of balls, drinking bottles, etc. The club was formed for the 2006/07 football season and has already become a feeder club for a well known Championship club. A young player has also already joined the Championship club's development squad. In addition, the club is linked with Cosmo Soccer School.

Athletics, Pop Lacrosse, Table TennisThe first Hodgson Elkington Pop Lacrosse Tournament of the 2007/8 season took place on the 7th November with teams competing for the Hodgson Elkington Shield. The event was won by West Bridgford School. The next tournament is to be held at Toothill School on December the 5th.

Hockey, Individual SponsorshipGoalkeeper David Overton is a member of both Leadenham and Lincoln Hockey clubs. He was selected, following trials in Nottingham, for the England under 16’s squad for the home international tournament which was held in Cardiff in July 2007.

On Saturday 8th September Lincoln Vulcans held their first club championship presentation evening at Waddington village hall. Over 200 swimmers and parents attended the evening.

Pop lacrosse was a popular feature on the 30th July and 8th August when children from the surrounding areas including Boston were able to receive instruction on the game of lacrosse and enjoy the sport. We were also able to assist with the supply of practice footballs and water bottles.

Shona McCallin, from Dry Doddington, was selected to play for the England under 16’s team. The team won the home international tournament which took place in Cardiff between the 24th and 27th July 2008.

Megan Rick was winner of the coveted 2007 'Player of the Year' Award sponsored by Hodgson Elkington.

Fishing, Football, Hockey, Lacrosse, Rugby, Swimming, TennisPop Lacrosse was an exhibition sport for the first time at the Lincolnshire Youth Games. Many children took the opportunity to the “have a go sessions”, and a number of teachers and SDO’s took details of the Junior Sports Programme which was promoted at the event.

Football, Individual SponsorshipSam attended Leicester Football Academy from the age of nine has now been selected to take part in the Catholic School Federation Games representing Great Britain in Hungary this month. The Junior Sports Programme was able to assist towards his costs.

Grantham swimmer Aidan Montgomery has been invited to be a member of the Great Britain team at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai.
